F. Joseph Daugherty, M.D. - Chief Executive Officer
Prior to joining Eleos at its founding, Dr. Daugherty served as President of ConAgra's Biotech Division, and was a strategic consultant to DuPont as part of its joint venture operations with ConAgra. He was additionally an independent management consultant; assisting numerous public and private pharmaceutical companies with strategic planning and business development. Dr. Daugherty received his M.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, and his M.S.I.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University.
Larry J. Smith, Ph.D. - Chief Science Officer
Dr. Smith launched Eleos after having founded and directed Hesed Biomed, which was purchased by Abgenix (acquired by Amgen) in 2001. He is the inventor of Eleos' therapeutics, which were the first to target p53. Dr. Smith was previously Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and the Department of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where he directed the Laboratory of Gene Regulation Research. Dr. Smith earned his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from State University of New York at Buffalo, and was a postdoctoral Fellow at Ontario Cancer Institute in Toronto where he studied under Dr. Ernest A. McCulloch.
William C. Houghton, M.D. - Chief Medical Officer
Dr Houghton formerly served as Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Alexza Pharmaceuticals, Vice President of Clinical Development at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Chief Scientific and Medical Officer as well as Chief Operating Officer at Orphan Medical Inc., and Chief Scientific Officer at Iotek Inc. He has additionally held a variety of management positions at Abbott Laboratories U.S.A. and Abbott AustralAsia. Dr. Houghton received his M.D. from the University of Sydney.
Dwight G. Hanson - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Hanson was previously Chief Financial Officer for ACI Worldwide, a publicly traded software development and marketing firm. While at ACI, Mr. Hanson was integrally involved with its IPO, secondary public offering, and ten acquisitions. His responsibilities included managing staff in ten countries during a period in which revenue grew from $60M to $300M. He has also served as Partner at Affiliated Management Resources, and with the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Hanson is a CPA and holds a B.A. in Accounting from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa.
Dayton Reardan, Ph.D., R.A.C. - Vice President, Regulatory Affairs
Dr. Reardan previously held the position of Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Orphan Medical Inc. (acquired by Jazz Pharmaceuticals), a public drug development and marketing firm. He has additionally served as Director of Development at CV Therapeutics and Xoma Corporation. Dr. Reardan has twice received the F.D.A. Commissioner's Special Citation for his work in developing pharmaceuticals for patients with rare diseases. His Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry is from the University of California, Davis.
Harry N. Cook, R.Ph., M.B.A. - Vice President, Clinical Operations
Before joining Eleos, Mr. Cook served as Director of Clinical Development at Orphan Medical Inc., where he was directly responsible for overseeing drug development from initial clinical trials through marketing approvals. He previously served as Manager of Clinical Research at MGI Pharma and as Assistant Director of Clinical R&D at SmithKline & French. Mr. Cook holds a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
Mike E. Hanson, M.S. - Director
Mr. Hanson is a Founding Partner of Barnard Life Sciences, Indianapolis. He previously served as President of Eli Lilly’s Internal Medicine Business Unit (Cardiovascular and Oncology), Director of New Product Planning and Licensing, Vice President of Eli Lilly International, Vice President of Lilly Research Laboratories, and President of Lilly Japan. Mr. Hanson received an M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy Administration from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
Joseph A. Twist, M.B.A. - Director
Mr. Twist is Founder and President of The Collaborative Group, Baltimore. He was previously Vice President of Business Development for Nova Pharmaceutical (acquired by Scios) and Group Marketing Director for Sandoz (now Novartis) where he was responsible for the commercial launch of cyclosporine. Mr. Twist was additionally involved in the commercial development of Avastin® and Remicade®. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy and M.B.A. in Marketing from State University of New York, Buffalo.
Filip A. Amram, M.B.A. - Director
Until recently, Mr. Amram was a Senior Partner of Intergum AS of Istanbul, which was purchased by Cadbury Schweppes PLC in June, 2007. Mr. Amram earned his B.A. at Harvard and his M.B.A. at Columbia University. |
